HEAD OF SCHOOL

 

Description: The Head of School (HOS) is responsible to the Board of Directors for the operation of The Blue Hill Montessori School, Inc. which includes both short- and long-term planning. The HOS must manage the school on a day-to-day basis in a way that meets the educational goals and mission of the school as set by the Board of Directors in accordance with its Montessori philosophy of education. The Head of School has broad responsibilities that encompass early childhood education and
care, faculty and staff supervision, day-to-day management and overall administration, and board participation.

 

Qualifications: 

● Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, or related field, is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.
● Knowledge and experience in Montessori education is required. American Montessori Society (AMS) or Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) credentials are preferred.
● A minimum three to five years teaching experience, plus an additional three to five years educational administration experience is preferred.
● A minimum Director Level I EEC certification is required.
● Strong written and oral communication skills are required.

Assistant Teacher, Toddler House

 

Hours: The anticipated schedule for the position is Monday - Friday, from 7:30am-3:00pm; academic year. Position expected to start Aug. 2019, or sooner.

 

Description: The Blue Hill Montessori School is seeking a candidate to work as an Assistant Teacher in our Toddler House, beginning in the upcoming academic year, September 2019. The Assistant Teacher is a guide who helps direct the children’s activities academically, spiritually, emotionally, and physically, in a prepared Montessori or child-care environment, one that challenges each child to reach his or her fullest potential in these developmental areas in accordance with Montessori philosophy.

 

Qualifications: Qualified candidates must be DEEC (Dept. of Early Education & Care) Teacher certified to work with toddler aged children. A Bachelor's degree in the field of early childhood education, Montessori certification preferred. Must have a minimum of two years experience working in an early childhood classroom setting, and exhibit knowledge of and respect for Montessori philosophy and practices.

SUBSTITUTE TEACHER

 

Hours: This part-time position schedule is on-call/as-needed (some time periods may be known in advance, including short-term leave coverage expected in May 2019) Monday through Friday, from 7:30am-6:00pm. This position may be considered to advance to full-time employment.

 

Description: The substitute teacher is a guide who helps direct the children’s activities academically, spiritually, emotionally, and physically in a prepared Montessori child-care environment.

 

Qualifications: Qualified candidates must have a minimum of one year experience working in an early childhood classroom setting.

 

Preferred candidates are DEEC (Dept. of Early Education & Care) Teacher certified to work with toddler aged children, with a Bachelor's degree in the field of early childhood education. Montessori certification and knowledge preferred.

 

Benefits: $15-$20/hr; academic-year schedule;
